Working with the Teams Tab and Prioritization
Summary
The Teams Tab supports structured team coordination by displaying all issues assigned to a specific team in priority order. Managers can adjust this order to reflect changing priorities, helping teams focus on what matters most and stay aligned with departmental goals.
Access and Permissions
- All users can view the Teams Tab and see the team’s priority list.
- Only managers should change the order of issues using the drag-and-drop.
- Once a manager updates the rank order, it becomes the team’s priority list and remains in place until changed again.
How to Access the Teams Tab
- Open the Issue Register.
- At the top of the register, select Team tab (next to Department tab).
- Use the Team dropdown to select your team.
- The list displays all issues assigned to that team, organized by priority
How to Prioritize Issues (Managers Only)
- In the Team tab, locate the list of issues for your team.
- Click and drag an issue up or down to adjust its order of priority.
- Release the issue in the desired position.
- The new order automatically becomes the team’s priority list.
- The list should remain in this order until a manager updates it again.
How to View Team Priorities
Team Tab
All team members can view the team’s prioritized list in Team View.
- The order displayed reflects the team’s current priorities as defined by the manager.
- This view helps ensure that all team members are aligned on what should be worked on first.
After a team’s issues have been prioritized, they also appear in the main Issue Register under the Team column (when enabled), showing the team name and priority number on the badge.
Issue Register
After a team’s issues have been prioritized, they also appear in the main Issue Register and can be viewed by enabling the Team column.
- Team name and Issue priority number appear on the badge in the column.
- Register can be sorted and/or filtered to show the Issues by relevant team and priority rank order.
Best Practices
- Managers should review team priorities regularly to ensure alignment with department objectives.
- Teams should reference the priority list during planning meetings or daily stand-ups.
- Use prioritization to manage workload and completion timelines effectively.
